Social Work Supervision
Individual Social Work Supervision
Professional supervision is an integral component of quality Social Work practice. In supervision I want you to have a safe and confidential environment to develop and grow, personally and professionally. Core functions of Social Work supervision with me will focus on reflective practice, ethical decision-making, challenging thinking and the application of Social Work theory and values to practice. If you have postgraduate or further professional development training in another therapeutic modality, we will also consider the application of these approaches as part of your Social Work identity and role.
There is also flexibility and space in supervision to address and problem-solve practice issues impacting your mental health and practice; such as vicarious trauma, burnout, workplace challenges, or de-briefing when you’ve been triggered by a case or client, for example. The beauty of engaging in Social Work supervision with an external supervisor is that I have no bias or conflict of interest by being employed from within your organisation. Together, we can consider the broader systemic issues impacting your practice and role at work, without the time constraints or competing interests that your internal supervisor is bound to.

Group Supervision – Social Work & Systemic Supervision
I offer Social Work and Systemic group supervision for Social Workers, Health care (including allied health and multi-disciplinary teams) and Education (teachers) professionals and non-clinical small business teams of up to 20 people. Applying the components and values of Social Work supervision to a team or business group context can help your team constructively work through issues and challenges, increase communication, boost morale, enhance self-awareness and improve team cohesion.
Engaging in group supervision could also support your team through a difficult time, with its reflective functions. Has your team experienced a breakdown in communication, internal conflict, or a traumatic event? Is there a need to address an uncomfortable topic that requires a skilled hand to facilitate conversation? De-briefing through these issues in supervision is a healthy and constructive way to get back on track and find solutions, while supporting your employees.
I offer my Group Supervision service three ways. As a one-off, a bundle, or an ongoing service. See your options to decide what is right for you here.
